Occupancy within ABOS is measured using the following sensors; CO2, PIR, humidity, light levels, temperature and information from devices such as lightswitches.
There are two main drawbacks of using PIR alone to measure occupancy. The first is ’false-off’ errors, i.e. the lights are switched off even if occupants are present. The second is that a PIR sensor is unable to detect multiple persons passing through the line of sight.
Each control app that subscribes to the sensor data has a different level of determining occupancy in a room.
Atamate can also integrate other sensors to measure occupancy eg; under desk sensors
Using occupancy based controls and machine learning, Atamate have abstracted out the complexity of building services control. User interfaces (if needed) are very simple for occupants and data is provided for management in real time or batched.
